Either they had no imagination or they were incapable of showing such things… I mean why wouldn’t they show it these things?
I recall this one story where Devil let out a single soul to go to Heaven, just so that the others could see a piece of what they were missing. 😀
That’s cruelty. If you know nothing but pain, then it becomes the norm. Even true happiness is found only when you have true misery to compare it on.
This reminds me of a book I read (I forget the name) where the villain was the god of Hope. The protagonists, upon learning this, couldn’t understand it at first. And then this quote:
“…because what force exists that has caused more anguish, more betrayal, than the idea of Hope?”
