Okay… They are in melee… But they still have their eyebeams. Unless shooting them hinders their vision somehow I see no reason why you’d ever need to suckerpunch your enemies. Unless of course your fist are stronger than your eyebeam, but… I doubt that…
Need to avoid cross/friendly fire. Don’t want to shoot, have enemy duck and you accidentally hit one of your comrades.
Well, they are using eye- beams intelligently. Look at the guy near the top of the panel, he’s holding that giant centipede thing to shoot its rider. The ones in the lower left aren’t using their eye-beams because they might hit each other, and the one on the top right can’t because his head is being bitten off.
