About this time, kid, I’d think of hightailing it out of that village.
@johanan: Actually, at this time, I’d think rubbing alcohol to keep from being infected, Zombie style, would come first, THEN heading out. The place may be a lost cause, but all the “Monsters” are distracted. He has time to properly prepare for this trip to anywhere but here.
Never come between man and his pie! >.<
And just how many Poppins are there to make so many pies? I mean, with many you can't even dig a small ditch without hitting those darn buggers. 😀
I’m just surprised the villagers haven’t crashed the Poppins population. They must breed like mice.
Are Poppins “practically perfect people” that they have such a magical effect, presumably for good or ill? 😉
The words “Lost Cause” come to mind. Just how far gone do you have to be to BITE someone who tries to stop you from eating poison.
The words “Slow Learner” also come to mind. What else? “Rose Colored Glasses”? “Probable INFP”? “JDC-ONE’S Victim of Torment Du Jour”? 😉

What this scene really needs is Charleton Heston.
“It’s poppins! Soylent pies is poppins!”
