In all fairness, had they been dead, Oswald would have asked for some other suitable guardian. No reason to bring Clive to his folks’ gravest, or better yet corpses… And seeing as Oswald found Clive alone in possesion of some mean folks abusing him… There was reason to doubt the wellfare of Clive’s mommy and daddy…
